I know, it sounds a bit silly to write about. But let’s be honest, cold hands can be a real nuisance. Last week, for example, I couldn’t manage to open Emily’s feeding bin, because my fingers were too cold. And I bet many of you have had similar moments when they wished for instantly warmed hands. Well, here is the trick to warming your hands in moments.
First things first, I can’t take credit for coming up with this myself. It was actually one of my friends at the stables that told me this trick.
I think it was last Wednesday, when even during the day the temperatures stayed below zero. I was wearing two layers of everything, pants, socks, even gloves. Yup, I get cold really quickly.
Anyhow, while I was mucking Emily’s stable, my friend walked by with completely undercooled hands. He had been training his horse without any gloves, can you imagine? But then he happily told me about this trick, which would warm up his hands in an instant.
He said: “all you have to do is put your fingers in your neck. Hold them there for a bit, and they’ll be warm in no-time.”
Of course I was sceptical. I mean, how can that be any different from warming your hands on a mug of tea, or inside warm gloves? But, true enough, when I tried it later, it took only half a minute to completely de-frost my cold fingers. I think it has something to do with how the skin in your neck is just the right temperature or something. I’m not sure, really.
But I do know that it works! And now you all know about it too and can enjoy the beautiful, frozen outdoors without suffering from cold hands.
