With fresh greens popping up everywhere, being outside gives an enormous boost. Just seeing all those new beginnings makes you feel happy and alive. Transfer some of that energy into your working space to get working more energetic and productive. These ideas will help you get started!
First things first, having one or two small plants around your working space makes a huge difference. I think it might be the most important thing you can do. (Apart from the basics like having a clean desk and proper ergonomic furniture) They bring life into the room, as well as some beautiful decoration. Only a very tiny little plant can already give an enormous boost to your energy. Now the room is not a dull, working place, but a space that is blooming with life and ideas. Try it and be amazed!
The first thing you see when you start your workday is the background on your computer screen. Use that to your advantage! Fill it with all the energy of spring and you will sure start working more energetic as well.
Colour is Everything
You know how I wrote about how much are brains like the colour green? Let’s treat your brain to some green while you are working, then. You can easily change to colour of your windows task bar to a nice, soft green, for example. Seeing that bit of green will let your brain relax a bit, allowing you to focus more and work more efficiently. Also adding some hints of green around your computer will make a big difference. Maybe a mouse mat or lamp with some green will be just what you need.
You are never too old to buy nice stationary, right? Having lovely, spring inspired, stationary around will definitely make you feel happy. Writing something down becomes something fun, instead of a task.
Let’s get spring into your working space!
