Back Home: Walking Report

Coming home always brings some mixed feelings. It’s the end of your holiday, which is sad, but on the other hand, it’s nice being in your own home again.

Fortunately, you can always enjoy your trip just a little longer by going through the photographs. So, here it is, my mini-holiday-walking-trip-report!

I started out at the train station of Olst. Along the way, I came across some gorgeous lanes and paths.

I met some friendly cows.

And ended my day in Deventer.

The next day, I walked from Deventer to Zutphen. The area was a little less photogenetic, but I have to be honest, that was mostly because the scenery of the first day was hard to surpass. I did have lunch at this lovely crossroad.

And it may be a bit hard to see, but these are fresh tracks from a roe deer, found just outside the small town of Epse.

At the end of the day: arrival in Zutphen.

I treated myself to a so-called “salad pancake”, a delicious reward after a long day of walking.

In case you’re wondering, it is a pancake topped with goat cheese and walnuts. After the picture was taken, the salad was also put on top of the pancake. It sounds a bit strange, but it turned out to be really quite yummy!

I spend the night in a Bed&Breakfast in the centre of Zutphen. It was a lovely place to stay! Everything was organised and clean, yet really cosy. Plus, the breakfast consisted completely of organic products. There was even an egg from the owner’s own chickens, delicious!

The last day, I went to explore the amazingly green city centre of Zutphen. More pictures of that will follow soon!
