It’s the start of a new year, a perfect moment to reconsider what you find important in your life and if and how you should invest more time in those things.
I know, you are probably already tired of all these kind of posts urging you to better your life etcetera. Don’t worry, I am not going to say you should work out more often, eat healthier and start working harder towards achieving your goals. Hell, start eating more, for all I care, as long as it is something that makes you feel good.
I think, with all that is going on in the world right now, it is good to focus on some positive things in your life, especially the small ones. Those little joys that can magically turn your mood around with only so small an effort. Being aware of their power and using that is what sets us up for success, no matter what your greater goals may be. (And of course, it’s always good to keep in mind the bigger picture as well!)
Here are some of the things I hope to do in 2017:
- Get my master’s degree in Biology
- Work through the whole “Bag Making Bible”-book, front to back, completing all of the eight projects it contains
- Reach a level of trust and relaxation in my relationship with Emily that allows us to ride outside of the arena again
- Get into the habit of doing yoga and/or pilates three times a week, and keep it up
Of course, that is only a selection of some of the things I hope to achieve. There are tons of other small joys I will aim to do, but I won’t bore you with all of those. And I’m sure they will develop and change along the way as well.
