What is your favourite summer fruit? To me, it’s definitely the strawberry!
For one, they look fresh and colourful, and, you know, summer-like. And then there is the amazing taste they bring to whatever dish you add them to.
Fun Fact: A “strawberry-berry” is not actually one berry, but a cluster of lots and lots of fused berries.
Did you realise how versatile strawberries are? You can combine them with almost anything. Here are some ideas:
Something very simple, yet still kind of fancy, is to throw them in a salad with some fresh lettuce, melon, almonds and balsamic vinegar. The colourful bowl of fresh produce will definitely be an eye-catcher on your dinner table. Of course you can make any other combinations that seem nice to you, there are so many delicious options!
You can also put them on a slice of buttered toast, or add strawberry chunks to a cake. And if you really have an excess of strawberries, why don’t you try and make some jam out of it?
As a real oatmeal addict, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t put strawberries in my oatmeal in the morning as well. This recipe for Strawberry Almond Oatmeal comes from the Oatmeal Artist and is just magnificent. I think this has to be one of my favourite oatmeal recipes ever. As someone who experiments with all different flavours of oatmeal, that does say something!
In my version, I leave out the vanilla extract, but for the rest I follow the recipe. You can find the recipe (and tons of other great oatmeal ideas) here.

And finally, of course, you can just enjoy your strawberries as they are. Only the berries in all their glory, lovely!
