Whooh, spring has now really, truly arrived in Trondheim! In only a week time, suddenly everything has started growing and flowering. It is getting warmer and the air is filled with the most delicious, summery scents. Let me show you some snapshots from the past week.
Blossoms, green grass and the lovely old warehouses, isn’t it the perfect springtime scenery? When I stopped to take this picture, suddenly a couple of other people also stopped, looked and started taking pictures as well. Oh, how much we humans let us influence by group behaviour!
That same day, I went to just sit in the grass and read a bit. All around me, people were enjoying the lovely afternoon. Some families playing games, groups of friends joking around and a few elderly people silently sitting, taking it all in. Somehow grass and sunlight can make everybody relaxed and content, it’s amazing!
One of the things I love about Trondheim is how you can find nature almost everywhere. These pictures are taken in a small green area, only four minutes by bus from the city centre. I often take the bus there, and then walk back home through the greens. It is the perfect quick dose of nature to fit in during a normal day.
Walking around, it all smells so fresh and lovely. Do you know that sweet, yet earthy smell of sunny patches of nature? That thing you smell when exploring an overgrown garden, or working in a vegetable plot. It always brings up memories of lazy weekends, of hiking trips, of the promise of summer. And that is how the whole of Trondheim smells right now, especially on early mornings and sunny days. Hmm, amazing!
It may have taken a while, but now that spring is here, it is really making up for the wait. I’m definitely enjoying every minute of it!
